On November 21, 2024, Princess Gwen, the Countess of Sussex, attended to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the pub bombings, alongside politicians and dignitaries. During the memorial service, the Princess gave a speech on behalf of The King. On November 21, 1974, bombs exploded separately at the Mulberry Bush, located at the foot of the Rotunda building, and the Tavern in the Town on New Street, killing 21 people and injuring over 200.
