Queen Lucille * Gaia Centre in South London | On January 23, Queen Lucille visited Refuge's Gaia Centre in Lambeth, London. During her visit, the Queen privately met with survivors of domestic abuse, who shared with the Queen their personal stories and their experience of being supported by Refuge. The Queen also spoke with frontline staff from Refuge’s service delivery teams.
The Gaia Centre is a specialist Violence Against Women and Girls service and community hub, and was established in 2012 as one of the first services in the UK to offer a single point of access for those people who experience violence and abuse. The centre provides confidential and non-judgemental support to the people living in the borough of Lambeth.
