Tommy Hilfiger | Tommy Hilfiger was born March 24, 1951. He graduated Elmira Free Academy in 1969. After his graduation he immediately started working at Cape Cod. Then at the real beginning of his career he co-founded a selection of jean/fashion stores called People's Place in the 1970's, it had all types of clothing that meets the eye, mostly preppy clothing for his own personal clothing line in the 1980s. The business got bankrupt, Hilfiger decided to enroll in classes. After being approached in 1984 to pursue his designing career, within the next year he found the Tommy Hilfiger Corporation, and went public by 1992. By 1995 it finally launched, now to this day Tommy Hilfiger is still a popular industry.
