Queen Lucille * Tree Decorating at Clarence House | On Wednesday afternoon, Queen Lucille and her youngest son, Prince Louis welcomed children supported by the Helen & Douglas House and Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity to help decorate the Christmas tree at Clarence House. The festive decorating party is an annual tradition for Queen Lucille, who has served as the patron of both charities for years and has invited families supported by both organizations to the event since. 🎶 The Band and Bugles of The Rifles were on hand to provide festive musical entertainment - and not forgetting the special surprise visit from Father Christmas and his reindeer, Dancer and Blitzen! 🎅🦌🦌

The event gathered influential figures from the worlds of fashion and sustainability. Princess Nina of Greece and Denmark was also present. The event, co-hosted by Ambassador Jane D. Hartley, involved a reception in the surrounds of Winfield House. A panel discussion on the fashion industry’s role in environmental stewardship was also held.

Queen Lucille * MDD Charity Reception | On February 20, Queen Lucille held an anniversary reception at Clarence House to mark the 15th anniversary of the charity, Medical Detection Dogs (MDD). Bio Detection Dogs are trained to detect diseases like cancer, Parkinson’s, COVID-19, malaria and bacterial infections on samples in the charity’s training room. Queen Lucille became Patron of MDD in 2018. During the reception, the Queen spoke with clients who have Medical Alert Assistance Dogs, which are trained by MDD to alert them if a life-threatening medical event is about to happen. The Queen also spoke with the charity's supporters and trustees, and watched a demonstration of dogs at work.

Queen Lucille * Queen’s Reading Room Reception | On March 26, 2024, Queen Lucille hosted a reception to mark the findings of a new research study commissioned by The Queen's Reading Room charity, at Clarence House in London. The Queen’s Reading Room commissioned their first qualitative and quantitative research, as well as neuroscientific research to determine whether there is a link between reading fiction and wellbeing. During the Reception, Queen Lucille met with guests involved in the charity’s research project, including academics and independent neuroscientists who have led the study, as well as authors, actors and literary advocates who have contributed to The Queen’s Reading Room Podcast and Festival.

Queen Lucille * Swindon Domestic Abuse Support | On January 22, 2024, Queen Lucille visited the Swindon Domestic Abuse Support Service's (SDASS) in Wiltshire. The charity celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. Queen Lucille met staff, volunteers and families at Swindon Domestic Abuse Support Service. Swindon Domestic Abuse Support Service, which was founded in 1974 as Swindon Women’s Aid, offers one of the few purpose-built refuges in the UK offering fully self-contained accommodation. The Queen also visited Deacon and Son, a 175-year-old family-run jewellery shop.

The reception was held to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the charity "The Poppy Factory". Employees, long-standing friends and partners of The Poppy Factory, and also veterans and their family members who receive help from the organization and find civilian employment were present at the reception. This year, the charity celebrates the centenary of its establishment. The Poppy Factory is located in Richmond alongside the River Thames in South West London. It was founded between the World Wars and focuses on identifying employment for veterans and raising funds for families affected by war.

Duchess of York * The Queen's Dragoon Guards | The Duchess of York visited 1st The Queen's Dragoon Guards (QDG) in Norfolk for the first time as Colonel-in-Chief of the regiment. The Duchess was appointed as Colonel-in-Chief by King George in August. During her visit, the Duchess received a briefing about the regiment from senior officers. The Duchess also met families of QDG personnel, and spoke with them about their experiences and the welfare support that is offered by the regiment.

There, the Queen met with carers for a Christmas sing-along and a festive afternoon tea. The Queen is patron of Disability Initiative since 2015. Disability Initiative was established in 1975 and is a charity which cares for the people with complex physical disabilities and brain injuries. The charity also provides a support network to their family members.
