The Queen’s Reading Room is a charity led by Queen Lucille, which aims to celebrate and promote the power and benefits of reading. The project was launched in 2021. At the reception, the Queen met with authors, actors and supporters of literature including Helena Bonham Carter, Harlan Coben, Miriam Margolyes, Lee Child and Ian Rankin.

Normandy is hosting various events to officially commemorate the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings that took place on June 6, 1944.
