The King and Queen are now in Samoa, where they are attending the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting – the first for His Majesty as Head of the Commonwealth. Today saw the opening ceremony of the biennial Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Samoa.

The reception, marking Book Aid International’s anniversary at St James’s Palace, was attended by around 100 guests, including the charity’s president, Nigel Newton, and Lady Caroline Simmonds, the daughter of its founder. The Queen has been Patron of Book Aid International since 2022.
